Full-time virtual charter schools and supplemental online courses is an evolving field of education that has created new learning opportunities for Oklahoma students. Statewide, Oklahoma provides six school options through a full-time online learning format and opportunities to access supplemental online courses while enrolled in a traditional school setting.

Virtual Charter Schools
Oklahoma has seven virtual charter schools authorized by the Statewide Virtual Charter School Board. These schools are full-time public education options delivering instruction through an online format.

Horizon: Digitally Enhanced Campus
Horizon is a state-of-the-art platform that expands curricular options for students, while keeping them integrated in on-campus life. Horizon helps school districts comply with Oklahoma Statute 70-1-111, which guarantees students access to supplemental online coursework, including Advanced Placement, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and foreign language classes.
Additionally, the Horizon Consortium is a dynamic network of school districts and education professionals that helps districts negotiate competitive rates for online courses, fill classroom vacancies, access high-quality professional development, and more.
